I have been in pro-audio since1992 and have owned a small sound company (Sound Source) since 1994; it was a progression from a prior vocation of designing and installing car audio systems. In the past 24 years I have provided sound reinforcement / lighting and video services for approximately 1,000 events covering Southern California and Western Arizona.
Around the same time I developed an interest in video production and editing. I performed sound services a quite a few weddings and I realized that my interest in video had the opportunity to be a lucrative sideline.
This led to another interest; in the mid 1990's the average computer was a Pentium 166. At the time, these computers were very expensive while giving "little bang for the buck". An off the shelf computer was fine for doing spreadsheets but it did not have the power required for audio / video production. I dove into it head first, took classes at a local community college, read any book I could find on computer building and started building my own computers. To this day, with the exception of laptops, I have built every computer that I've ever owned.
This led to another business venture; before long and through "word of mouth" I began designing and building computers for friends and businesses. San Diego has a regional fireworks company called Fireworks America. While based in San Diego, they put on shows all over the country and for approximately 10 years I designed and built a majority of the computers that they utilized in their shows.
In addition to sound reinforcement, lighting and video production; I also offer on-site live multi-track audio recording with the ability to have perfect sync for video. The advantage of this is a vastly higher quality audio over the on-camera microphone. I have a fully equipped studio that I use for audio mix-down, mastering and video production.
